If you saw it, would you read it: Pleasure Unbound by Larissa Ione #ReadOrNot
About the front:
So … hehehehe … the first time I looked at this cover I thought there was a horse on it. Yes, I did. How? Well, you see the girl’s hair? It comes down in two places. Her neck and chest are the horse’s neck and her arm is a leg. Don’t ask. 😉 That’s just how some things go. But, in this case, I was so in love with the blue/green of the colors that I had to stare at it a little more. And more. And more. And more. 🙂 And then I saw him and her and figured out exactly what I was looking at. Then, I found I really liked it. My only constructive criticism and this may be because I’m not 18 and probably old … but the red text on the dark background makes the author’s name and whatever words are under Pleasure Unbound VERY VERY hard to read. In fact, I still can’t read what’s directly under ‘unbound’.
Now let’s look at what the back says:
In a place where ecstasy can cost you your life . . .
She’s a demon-slayer who hungers for sensual pleasure-but fears it will always be denied her. Until Tayla Mancuso lands in a hospital run by demons in disguise, and the head doctor, Eidolon, makes her body burn with unslakable desire. But to prove her ultimate loyalty to her peers, she must betray the surgeon who saved her life.
Two lovers will dare to risk all.
Eidolon cannot resist this fiery, dangerous woman who fills him with both rage and passion. Not only is she his avowed enemy, but she could very well be the hunter who has been preying upon his people. Torn between his need for the truth and his quest to find his perfect mate before a horrific transformation claims him forever, Eidolon will dare the unthinkable-and let Tayla possess him, body and soul…
Does it match? Front to Back without the in between?
Whoa. Huh? Okay … going back to try this again.
Okay. I think the people’s names made it hard for me to focus. I kept trying to pronounce them and it wasn’t working. Yikes. Okay, now I get it. Demon-slayer and demon with some major life changing event are about to get it on. 😉 Gotcha.
Does it match? Well it doesn’t not. I think this cover could have gone anywhere so for me, yes, it does! Yeah! And if it didn’t take me 3 times (yes, actually 3) to read through the blurb, I might have been faster to say it matched.
Where I’d read it
Hmmm…. dunno … but somewhere with a big glass of wine. 🙂

I’ve already read this one. And I have to say, I don’t think the blurb quite gives justice to how fast the reader is hit upside the head with a WHAM! BAM! of desire, wantoness, and intimacy between two people who have barely spoken to each other, let alone got to know each other. However, there was some decent world building in it that *might* encourage me to read on in the series–as well as some secondary characters who intrigued me enough to want to learn more. Whilst the blurb *is* pretty confusing–even to someone who’s read the novel–I can’t really argue that it doesn’t gel with the cover. So, yep. This one will probably have to go on the yay pile, imo. 🙂
