Novel #2 | Done!

On February 19, 2010 by Aimee

I JUST wrote the last word of my 2nd novel tonight! Last May, right around the first of the month, I got an idea and decided to just sit and write. Less than sixty days later, I finished it. Do you know how many people do that? Apparently way less than I thought.

In September, I started a 2nd novel and after 25,000 words, decided the story wasn’t telling me anything. Loved one of the characters though. Her name was Charley.

In November, I wrote half 50,000 words as part of Nanowrimo 2009 and decided I hadn’t hooked myself on my characters, so I deleted them (for all intents and purposes). They’ll never see the light of day.

Then in January, Charley haunted me again. She sat on my conscience, haunted my dreams, invaded my daily life and I decided that meant she had a story to tell.

Today, fifty days after I started, I wrote the last two words and ended it with a period. 🙂

Oh yeah, there is plenty of editing to do and a lot of retouching, but Charley lives. Her story has been told through my fingers. She’s my very favorite character because she represents so much of the women I admire, in so many ways. I have fallen in love with her and her life.

Thank you for giving me this opportunity.

85,895 words later, Little White Lies, a paranormal, romantic suspense/thriller has been written.
