About the front:
This is creepy. Seriously. There’s a tree with a naked woman coming out of it and the vines all look like they are going after her … or maybe she’s becoming them. I dunno. Then behind her is what looks like metal and concrete all jumbled up … like a world falling apart. Now, couple that with the word ‘Rise’ in the title and I’m thinking someone’s about to take over a world that’s already been destroyed … and I’ll presume that means the Magi.  The imagery is really powerful. And I’m sure the naked lady will catch some eyes. 😉

Now let’s look at what the back says:

In a battle of wills, who is strongest? The one who hates or the one who loves?

In a test of faith, who will fight the hardest? The one who has everything to lose or the one who believes only in herself?

For Lila Gray, the answer is both.

For the Magi, the questions are pointless since they can’t lose, and they’ve been waiting since before Lila’s birth for this one moment.

Lila only needs to find them to understand her entire purpose in life.

This time, though, instead of protecting her people, Lila may be leading them all, including her unborn child and the man she loves, to their deaths — and not by accident.

In the ultimate trial of heart and soul, and the conclusion to the Lila Gray series, Lila will learn that the greatest weapon of war is herself, with one ultimate unknown.

For which side will she fight?

Does it match? Front to Back without the in between?

In a battle of wills, who is strongest? The one who hates or the one who loves?

Ooh … a battle. That background fits.

In a test of faith, who will fight the hardest? The one who has everything to lose or the one who believes only in herself?

A fight. Of faith. Interesting. And ‘herself’ … so that’s definitely a woman ‘in’ that tree.

For Lila Gray, the answer is both.

Ah, Lila. She’s always one to be fighting the good fight whether she knows it or not.

For the Magi, the questions are pointless since they can’t lose, and they’ve been waiting since before Lila’s birth for this one moment.

Oh, finally! This is who the bad guys are (though I have to admit we did learn that in book 2).

Lila only needs to find them to understand her entire purpose in life.

Poor girl. She’s constantly having to find these guys. Why don’t they just pop up, yell ‘boo’ and be done with it? If they are that powerful, why not just crush her and get it over with?

This time, though, instead of protecting her people, Lila may be leading them all, including her unborn child and the man she loves, to their deaths — and not by accident.

In the ultimate trial of heart and soul, and the conclusion to the Lila Gray series, Lila will learn that the greatest weapon of war is herself, with one ultimate unknown.

The conclusion! Booo. 🙁 I love Lila. And Liam.

For which side will she fight?

Wait … what? Lila’s not going to be on the good side? Say it ain’t so!! The good guy always has to win!!

Will I read it?
You betcha. This is a series I can’t put down.

Bonus!

I love seeing these three covers together. Indulge me for a moment:

Side by side, these books are a true path for Lila Gray. From naive unknown to deep, dark sinister middle to what I’m going to call a rebirth in the latter. As a series, it really speaks to me.

Will you add it to your bookshelf virtual or otherwise?
