But … what? There’s no traditional anniversary gift for 18 years? We can’t have that, so I’m giving to you!
Boooooo!
Let me say that again …
Boooooo!
According to Wikipedia, there is no traditional anniversary gift to give for an 18th? So what’s a girl to do? I mean, TODAY is my 18th wedding anniversary, so am I supposed to get my husband … nothing?

My hubby and I 18 years ago! π
Is the 18th a year NOT to celebrate? I mean, look at us 18 years ago … don’t we deserve some anniversary day goodies?
::Insert Scratching Fingers to Chin here::
I’m highly confused.
All these years, the list has been there. Paper, cotton, linen, silk, iron, wood, bronze, etc.
But for 18 … I’m supposed to get jack. There’s not even a FLOWER listed for 18.
Or, I should ‘go modern’ which is porcelain, but I have to say my toilets are porcelain and/or that’s just the age old nickname so I’m thinking this is not the route to go.
Well … we can’t have this now can we?
There has to be a solution. A good solution. No … a great solution!
Any ideas? Any takers? Anyone?
Oh! I have one!
I thusly declare every 18th wedding anniversary the anniversary to give BACK! Yes, yes, yes I do. So in honor of my 18th which has no gift traditional designations AT ALL and a modern one that well … stinks … today I shall be giving in multiple ways.
Gift #1 to ALL commenters.
One custom, digitally signed book cover of your choosing (and here they are!
You just pick the cover and comment in the comments about which one is your favorite.
But wait! There’s more!
One entrant will receive a signed bookmark pack!
What’s that? Oh yeah, one bookmark from each of the above books, signed my *moi*. No, my hubby won’t sign, but that’s okay, today’s really all about the bride, right?*
*Don’t answer that.
To get this, all you have to do is participate in this little giveaway and tell someone else about it so they participate!
But wait … yes, there’s still more!
One lucky person will receive ebooks of Little White Lies, Surrender & Into the Unknown, too!
To which this, you just have to add to your comment why you think waiting for your spouse ‘forever’ was worth it. Forever here, too, is subjective. I waited for 6 whole years … but then again I was 14 when I met him, so it was kinda necessary to wait a little while … which felt like forever at the time.
But wait once more! There’s even more!
One final, lucky participant will receive a signed paperback of Hide & Seek.
Woohoo! Yes, seriously! One custom signed, mailed to you via the USPS paperback! Now, I’m sorry to say this one will be limited to the US because shipping to countries outside the US is ridiculous for books! I swear, it really is!
To win the signed paperback, all you have to do is tell me how long you’ve enjoyed marital bliss* (*subjective designation) π
As we all know, romance novels don’t typically engage married couples. Nope. Not at all. Quite the opposite in fact. Yet at the end, we expect a happily ever after, and we mean FOREVER! So I want to know how long your forever has been so far!
Obviously, mine is 18 years TODAY!! Wheeeee!
So to recap … because there is no gift for me to give that is tradition and the modern one stinks* (*literally), we have four great prizes for blog followers!
1) Digitally signed covers for all commenters
2) Bookmark packs for one
3) ebooks for another
4) A signed paperback straight from the tree!
So get your commenting on between now and August 25th (yes, all the way ’til then) because on August 26th, I’ll share one other big piece of anniversary-style information with you!
Random drawing based on all participants.
And to all those other married folks celebrating today …
Well, hot digggity damness, Cue mega sulking coz I WANT a signed H&S paperback. π I’ve even been married for 17-some years, too. π Hey ho.
Hmmm, as for which cover is my favourite ….. *squidges lips* …. see, I LOVE the H&S cover (for obvious reasons), but I also LOVE the Surrender cover, too. So if I’m to have one of those, I’d go for a lucky dip between the two and be happy with whichever one you surprise me with. π
Oh, yeah, and mustn’t forget: HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! π
Many thank yous! π
We just celebrated 17 years on July, plus add 8 years of dating before it was official. I would love love love love the signed copy of Hide and Seek, because Tripp is so YUMMY, and yes my hubby knows since every time he uses my iPad, Tripp is my screen saver π
Happy Anniversary Aimee!
Yeah for 17!! Wheeee! We had 6 years before our big day, so I know the feeling! π
I just wanted to stop by and say CONGRATULATIONS on 18 years together.
I think it’s wonderful that you’re having a giveaway to celebrate, but I’ve never been married so no need to enter me into the giveaway.
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!
Thank you! π π π
18 years! So many congrats! I haven’t hit my 1st yet but I am already excited about 18! I was told that I shoul expect paper for our first. Still being in college I am totally down with this lol
How did I miss this comment? Thank you!! π
My husband an I celebrated our eight year wedding anniversary in June. We had less than two years between when we met and our wedding day. We both broke off engagements before meeting, though. So, it feels like it was a longer process! We were also surprised to discover that we almost met twice before finally crossing paths.
With no 18 year anniversary gift, “Bride’s Choice” is the way to go! Personally, I vote for travel (preferably international)!
“Hide & Seek” is my book choice! I love the story of Lexi and Tripp. All of the links in the book are intriguing and capture my imagination, too (myths, the stars, the past, the house, dreams). I identify with Lexi’s relationship with her sister, too.
Happy Anniversary, Aimee!!! May your love last as long as the Fergs’!
“May your love last as long as the Fergsβ!” <-- I'm down for that!! LOL And I'm down with Bride's Choice, too! But we do plan to travel for our 20th. Saving up for a trip!!! π
Wow, congrats on 18 years! I have been married for seven years, we’ve been together for 14! Doesn’t seem that long, but that’s a good thing.
Your book covers are gorgeous! Thanks for the awesome giveaway!!!
