If you were in charge of the world, what would you do? #TiWiWF

If I were in charge of the world, I’d cancel school, camps, construction and also bad places.

Or so say daughter #1 during the 2nd grade ‘Poetry night’ reading last week.

There’s be water parks in all back yards, 1,000,000 cinnamon buns, and 6,000 fairs.

You wouldn’t have to pay taxes, clean up or eat healthy.

I can see, already, where the cleaning comes from. She’s the worst one in our bunch when it comes to cleaning. Now on the taxes … where did a 7 y.o. learn that?

Any food would be a vegetable.

Excellent!

A person who sometimes forgot practice and something forgot to change their underpants would still be allowed to be in charge of the world.

As the saying goes … to each his own.

Now, we switch to my other daughter.

If I were charge of the world, I’d cancel junk food, mushrooms, state fair and also hockey.

I had to asked her about the hockey as she loves going to Carolina Hurricane’s games. And the state fair. Hmmm…..

There’s be two types of sports, bouncy houses and school every day.

You wouldn’t have tests, vacations or accents.

I think she’s missed the point on the being in charge. Vacations?

A pineapple piza would be a vegetable.

I’m good with this one!

And a person who sometimes forgets their shoes and their suitcase would still be allowed to be in charge of the world.

And there you have it. Being in charge of the world from a 7 y.o. perspective.

Now if *I* were in charge of the world … I’d cancel taxes as my first daughter said. All food would be healthy and have no calories. Then again, that would probably require that I be God or a wizard, which I’m not, so perhaps, I’d change my mind on that one (don’t want the government dictating what I eat now, do I? 😉 ).

Honestly, I don’t want to be in charge of the world. It’s a position with too many demands and too many people clamoring for attention. I want to be the person who works hard, enjoys my life and doesn’t have 24,000,000 people all wanting me to do something different … for them. I mean geez … it’s bad enough I gotta do that for the 3 monkeys in my families as it is!

Being in charge though … it sometimes fun to think about. Or maybe, better yet, thinking about winning the lottery is better … because then I’d be in charge of me and my family and what I did with that money wouldn’t be nearly as scrutinized as if I were “In Charge of the World”. 😉
