So I did this session of this awesome family (I’ve photographed them for several years, since the next-to-littlest was a baby. In any case, it was family portrait time and my ENTIRE focus was getting the 7 of them together.

I did.

But sometimes … well … sometimes the outtakes make me smile so much that it’s those I fall in love with — that reflect the truth behind the ‘formal’ family portrait.

Now you’ll notice I’ve cut out two folks here … big brother and Dad. Why? Well … let’s say one we giving the evil eye and the other was totally being ‘good’ and focused on the camera! I decided to let you imagine which was doing which … for a little fun. Dad’s on the left in the teal and big brother’s on the right in the white.

No matter what, these guys braved the rain and an 18 month old with no sleep. So they are all winners in my book and I enjoyed my sweat-infused hour out at the JC Raulston Arboretum with them! 🙂
