Blog Chain | Absolute Write for January

On January 31, 2010 by Aimee

Such fun this chain has been — as they have been in the past! This one though, is more personal — a divulging of a bit of the soul of each participant. 🙂 Our topic this month is guilty pleasures and by guilty, anything goes. Read through those before me and you’ll see what i mean. LadyCat was just before me, for example. The rest of the list of participants is listed at the bottom of this post. I encourage you to read through them all. 🙂

So, what are my guilty pleasures? Hmmmmmmm …. this is a hard one!

I really don’t watch much tv … used to. I read a lot, work or play on my computer A LOT but there are days where nothing will do but my favorite shows … of which I have just a few. Shall I list them? Ok!

Lost — yes, I’m a Lost junkie. I hate it so much I have to watch.
House — I still think back to Stewart Little where Hugh Laurie played the Dad. I laugh all the time, but House is so very stuck in my head now.
Bones — David Boreanaz. Need I say more?
The Office — having worked in the office the first 10 years of my life, I am down with the life and times it portrays.

That’s pretty much it for tv though — and those are always DVR’d so I can watch them at my leisure.

I am addicted to Bruegger’s bagels. I eat there every (and when I say every, I mean every) morning. 🙂 While the bagel changes regularly, the unsweet tea with a splash of sweet is my signature drink. Everyone in my home-town Bruegger’s knows me and they can pretty much figure out what I want as soon as I walk in the door. It’s my own version of “Cheers” if you can remember that far back. 😉

Chocolate. Add mint and I’m sold. Brownie? Mmmm Mmmm Mmmm. Peanut butter. Yum! Doesn’t matter the form, if there is chocolate in it, I want it. Now, granted, I can’t indulge but very infrequently (especially with the exercise program I am in right now — P90X) and as soon as that taste hits my tongue, I am sunk and crave it more and more for hours if not days. Quite the addiction — currently under control. 🙂

Anything made by Apple or Canon. My two favorite computers are Macs (5-year old Macbook Pro and iMac) and my cameras are Canon. They are extensions of my fingers, of my body when I have them in my hands.

That’s my last one. I am a Facebook junkie. I use it for business but also because I love to see what others are doing! Since I don’t work with tons of people around me, life can get lonely. Facebook gives me the opportunity to be nosey, privately. 🙂 If you want to be nosey with me, feel free to send me a friend request. 🙂 Link is right up there.

So there you have it … my guilty pleasures.

Oh … just one more. Rum and coke. Long day? That combination is the best end to it.

Now I think I need to go get some chocolate, tune into the latest Bones, sit back on my dirty couch, a coke in hand, add a few cap fulls of rum and finish up this post on my Macbook. 🙂

The entire list … read ’em!

  • HOUSE is not and should never be regarded as a “guilty” pleasure. It is a sublime experience of entertainment and storytelling.

  • Ha! You are a House junkie too? 😉

  • Hey, never feel guilty for chocolate 😉 I’m a Facebook junkie as well, though I don’t use it for business at all. Its worse now that I’ve discovered Mafia Wars, wee! I’ve also gone up like 40 levels in a week. Which Canon cameras do you have? I seriously splurged at Christmas and bought myself a T1i, which I LOVE! My SO is really into photography, and has a 5D and 10D and more lenses than I can remember.

  • Hi! I have the 5D, a 20D and the T1i — and more lenses than I can remember, too. 🙂 Photography is my day job, so I kinda have to have the good stuff. 🙂 🙂 Are we friends on FB?!?!? 🙂

  • I have to admit, I’m a LOST junkie as well. Although truthfully, I’m glad this is the last season of it ’cause I’m getting pretty fed up with their shenanigans. 🙂

  • I am SO glad this is the last season too!! SOOOOO happy! 🙂

  • Brownies are so happy making.
    Warm regrads.

  • I never could get into House. To me, Hugh Laurie is Bertie Wooster, not some dark, brooding doctor with an attitude problem. But chocolate? And Brownies? There’s a reason I’ve volunteered again to be Cookie Mom for my daughter’s girl scout troop.

  • Aren’t they just yummy, Claire? 🙂

It’s funny how we see an actor/actress and are stuck to their “original” role. 😉 I had that problem initially with him, but he’s morphed into the ever sarcastic, fully twisted Dr. House now for me. 🙂

    Something about chocolate … mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!
