Now here’s the kicker with this kid … Mom hasn’t cut his hair … with the exception of getting it out of his eyes, so we had to make sure we got a great shot because it’s all going away!
Portraits :: Newborn’s don’t smile they …
smirk.
New big brothers don’t smile either. Except when handing me playdough or pretzel fishes or when we are looking for the lost smile in a pocket. But hey …. that’s what being 2 is all about.
Congratulations Mom, Dad and big brother!

Certification :: I passed step 1 of 2!
On June 21st, I submitted twenty of my images to a panel for review and consideration in the process of becoming a Certified Professional Photographer.
Today, I received my letter stating that I have PASSED!
According to ‘industry experts’ this is the harder of the two pieces. The next piece is a 2-hour written exam that I will take after I finish studying the 20+ chapters of the book.
This piece was actually my hold up years ago and I am THRILLED, no, beyond thrilled to have passed!
Here goes nothing on the next step!
Wedding | Janet & Dakotah, Sanford, NC
I thought I was young when I got married.
Then apparently, I got old and look at other couples and say ‘wait!’ but these guys are actually older than I was. But not by much.
I, of course, wish them a wonderfully, happy and fulfilled life together!
Congratulations, Janet & Dakotah!

Portraits | Miss M @ the JC Raulston Arboretum
I’ve photographed this little girl since she was a week old and that was in the hospital. Once she made it home, I got to go there to. Then throughout the time until right now! From bald to the curly locks, she’s only gotten cuter, her personality has come through and she’s shown me both her good and her devlish sides.
