Ellie and Daniel left me no choice. The two of them wouldn’t leave me alone until I got their story down on paper. *shrugs* Besides, Ellie can be pretty damn stubborn.

If you were to be eaten by cannibal, how would you like to be prepared?

With a dash of salt — to counteract my overly abundant sweetness.

What scares you the most?

Author interviews… just kidding. Hmm, this is a tough one. I would have to say what scares me most is the idea that I may have forgotten to teach my children something important. I mostly just cross my fingers on that one.

If that doesn’t get you interested in this brand new author, check her out at all these other places:

Ben & Jerry’s ____________ is the best ice cream ever!

Cherry Garcia — because it’s the only one I have found with enough fruity flavor to satisfy me. I’m one of those rare women who don’t care much for chocolate or tons of chunky bits in my ice cream.

Wouldn’t it be fun to chuck it all and go live on a sailboat?

Heck, yes! I am completely and utterly addicted to sailing and tall ships, which is a big part of why the MC’s in my debut novel are both sea salts. Can I get a pirate ship instead of a sailboat?

Are you cheap or thrifty?

There’s a difference between the two? I think I have to go with thrifty, It makes me sound smarter. Though if you ask my daughters, they may have a different answer for you.

Do spelling and grammer mistakes annoy you?

I hpe not. I have lived with a rather annoying little typofairy since the day I started writing. I’m sure at this point if she disappeared I would miss her.

What was your most embarrassing moment?

When I was twelve, my softball team made the NYS 12 and Under championship game. I was playing first in teh last inning with two outs, and the batter hit what we call a worm burner up the line and the ball popped up and clocked me in the chin. I was knocked out cold. When I woke up, my coaches were standing over me and the game was over.

The good news, we won. The bad news, I don’t remember a bit of it.

Way to end the game though, eh?

Now, before we get to the last question, let’s look at Rebecca’s book … a Paranormal Romance with a heat level of 3 (of 5). She classifies it as a sweet romance, but it doesn involve adult themes, some violence, and contains one detailed love scene.

Call of the Sea by Rebecca Hart

Call of the Sea by Rebecca Hart

Elysandra Winters has always yearned for a life of adventure on the rolling seas and is willing to do whatever it takes to fulfill her dream. When her Privateer father continually refuses to allow his only daughter to sail, Ellie defies him, disguises herself as a boy, and goes in search of a captain who will give her a chance to prove her worth.

Thanks to the cursed selkie blood coursing through his veins, Daniel O’Rourke needs the sea to survive. After giving up on his humanity and spending three years in seal form, he decides to give his human side another chance. Daniel goes in search of a job and a sense of normalcy, earning himself a position aboard Captain Winter’s ship, The Siren’s Call. However, his new captain’s first assignment has nothing at all to do with sailing, and everything to do with his headstrong young daughter.

Years later, when the leader of a band of bloodthirsty pirates murders Captain Winters, Daniel and Elysandra’s lives come crashing back together with the force of a hurricane. Both experts in deception, they must find a way to trust each other if they are to have any hope of hunting down the captain’s killer.

Favorite one-line review about the book

I tasted the salt in the air, felt the wind on my face, and experienced every jitter and bite of anger Ellie & Daniel did.

Favorite 6 sentences from the book

“Meet me on The Siren’s Call in the morning. With or without Daniel, we need to get that new mast installed. If he doesn’t return soon, we’ll have to consider the possibility of going after Jashir without him.”

“Wouldn’t you have to steal his ship to do that?” Nelson asked.

Ellie drew her shoulders up in a shrug. “Once a pirate, always a pirate.”

But before you go, one last question …

What Would You Do Right Now If You Had A Million Bucks?

Go to Fiji, baby! Then figure out what to do with the rest of it while I sun on the beach drinking a frozen pina colada :)

Congratulations, Rebecca! Good luck with Call of the Sea!
